Total Price (incl. Tax)
$1627.74
Okay, so it's a little pricey. As they say, you get what you pay for. I have had hardly any problems with the PC. The problems I have encountered just have to do with Windows, not the hardware itself. But since Vista is pretty much all you can get except for buying a Mac or installing Linux, there isn't a whole lot you can do about it.
This laptop is not for everyone. For example, if you're looking for a cheap internet/email notebook, look elswhere. You won't find this for under $650. It's perfect for the on-the-road gamer and the entertainment buff. The technology in this should keep you pretty much up to date for at least a couple of years.

As Generation Y continues to frolic to the vast array of social networking sites including MySpace.com, Friendster, and other social exchange networks, the options are no longer limited to the laptop or PC to connect with other members. Wireless gadgets are increasing in scope and features, with tech-savvy products primed for efficiency and functionality. Fresh on the market is the Sony Mylo, a slick and compact device that just may lure more people to jump on board to the world of online social networking.
Mylo stands for ‘my life online’ and is Sony’s first wireless gadget emergence for handheld and small-gadget friendly users. The interface is attractive and appealing; a pop-out keyboard pad is cleverly appended to the large, digital color screen. Held in both hands, the slim and compact design looks a lot like a handheld game piece.
The core appeal of the Sony Mylo is the instant messaging component, with the ability to send and receive messages almost immediately upon turning the Mylo on. No more searching for a local computer, booting up a laptop, or even turning to the cellphone and PDA; the Sony Mylo will keep your fingers busy with a variety of user-friendly components.
Users of the Sony Mylo can exchange pictures, text messages, music, and check up on e-mails with a few quick steps; the device is a great outlet for Google Talk, and even Skype since it doesn’t require ongoing maintenance fees for each type of service. Skype software is pre-installed on the device, and can easily boost a user’s networking frequency. The embedded browser on the Sony Mylo allows for quick and easy web connectivity, making the device a functional resource for e-mail exchanges on the go.
45 hours of playback time and 1GB of storage offer enough space to create miniature music-libraries, in addition to chat and surf time. The Sony Mylo supports MP3 files, and downloads are smooth and consistent across almost all wireless networks; the Mylo is built for 802.11b wireless connections. Mobile gadgets are a hot item in the social networking arena, and Sony Mylo is just one of many up-and-comers. The wireless capabilities make it a promising choice for school, college, and university campuses where connectivity has prominence and offers easy wireless access.
Other wireless gadgets on the market today, specifically geared towards young generations who are catching the wave for social networking, include cellphones and PDAs. When Helio partnered with MySpace to create MySpace-exclusive programs for its mobile device, new user behaviors have begun to populate the market. Nokia has embraced the Flickr networks, to allow users to share and exchange pictures and comments easily. Juice Wireless, a company that offers mobile marketing and consumer products to a wide variety of industries, hopes to tap into many social networking sites and gadget-makers to harness the effectiveness of tracking friends, services, or other location-specific data through GPS technology. The Sony Mylo is tapping into a growing and attractive market, and may cater to the vital needs of many social networking sites.

Acer Extensa 5620Z, Reviewed
Acer's Extensa 5620Z is a low end budget laptop only of you judge it by price alone. When it comes to actual performance, it's another story. Really, I'm surprised how much Acer managed to pack into the Extensa 5620Z for the cheap price tag of $550.
Technical Specs:
Screen Size: 15.4'' WXGA Acer CrystalBrite LCD
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2370 (1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache)
RAM: 2GB DDR2 667
HDD: 250GB
Video: Intel GMA x3100
Drive: DVD Super Multi
WLAN: 802.11b/g
Integrated Webcam/Microphone
OS: Vista Home Premium
Perfect Laptop for College or Work
While the Extensa 5620Z is certainly not a gaming monster, or a processing powerhouse, its more than enough for college or work use. It feels responsive and quick thanks to the 2GB of DDR2 RAM and Pentium Dual-core processor. Thanks to a generous 250GB hard drive, it has enough space for all of your music, movies, and games, as well as school assignments or work presentations. The DVD drive allows you to watch movies, and the laptop can be connected to a television or external monitor via an S-Video out, or VGA connection. There is also a memory card slot on the front for uploading pictures from a digital camera.
The screen on the Acer Extensa 5620Z looks great, though it has a glossy cover which can cause some glare, but nothing major. With a native resolution of 1280×800, the picture looks crisp and bright. The outer cover is prone to light scratching, but it's not very noticeable. It looks very professional, and has a surprisingly high quality appearance for such a cheap notebook.
Easy to Set Up, Easy to Use
The battery in the Acer Extensa 5620Z lasts about 2 ½ hours, which is acceptable, but not great. The speakers are also decent, but again nothing exceptional. After extended use the laptop can get quite warm, but it's nothing to worry about. It was able to connect to my wireless network easily and without any problems. The integrated webcam is a great feature, and works well. The suite of software Acer includes with the laptop doesn't really contain anything special, but there's not much “bloat ware” either, which pleasantly surprised me. It includes a trial version of Microsoft Office, trial anti-virus software, and a utility for managing the wireless connection. I would have liked to have seen a program like OpenOffice rather than the trial of Microsoft Office, but that's just a matter of personal opinion.
A Great Buy
Really, for the price, there's no other laptop that comes close to the Acer Extensa 5620Z. The combination of great hardware and features it amazing. Overall I've had a wonderful experience with it, and happily recommend it to anyone searching for a new notebook computer.

Lenovo uniquely launched the S10 IdeaPad but have since decreased ongoing cost and also added a 6 cell battery, VeriFace security software and Quick Start OS. Lenovo also added numerous colorful options to this design such as ruby red and white.
As standard with 9 and 10 inch laptops the Lenovo S10 has a 1024×600 pixel resolution. The AntiGlare TFT display is vivacious with rich colors and when mutual with the matte finish prevents reflections and glare. This is chiefly helpful when the sun beams through the window or if you desire to sit outdoors utilizing your laptop.
With the 6-cell battery attached to the pivot of the laptop some people have recommended that the two-tone glance makes the laptop look quite "toy like". The exterior may not be as significant as the quality and aspects of the laptop so this is completely personal preference.
The build quality is rather striking for a Netbook. Although it is created mainly from plastic it does sense tough enough to be carried around. One of the most common requests among consumers with laptops more than 6 months old is upgradeability. Laptop and computer technology shifts so fast that no sooner have you purchased a new laptop it is out-of-date. The good news is that the S10 is far simpler to upgrade than many other Netbooks.
Dealboy
Before I purchased this laptop, I ordered a 14″ Dell (another i3 for $499 from Dell’s 10 days deal promo) but I canceled it later because they told me the laptop will take them three weeks to build it (!?). Thanks God! I found this deal in newspaper and went to a local OMX to get one (It showed “Discounted” in the OMX site). Since I have never owned a Acer laptop before, I kind of being skeptical about their build quality but I changed my doubt after I opened the box.
The package is kind of cheap but not the laptop. It is lighter than my old Toshiba and so far I have not sensed any heating issue like my mac pro and Toshiba did. The design is contemporary, fun and curvy but not as slick as high end HP, Apple or Sony (you got what you pay for). The spec is really good…It comes with a sharp and saturated LED screen. The keyboard setting is intuitive and the keys are very responsive. The touchpad is kind of cool and it is hard to find in a laptop in this price range. The weight is light for 15 inch comparing to my two-year-old Toshiba and even one-year-old Mac Book pro. It also comes with a fast Intel i3 processor, a DVD writer, a build-in web came, 4G DDR3-1066 memory, a 320 G hard drive, modem port, a Numeric keypad, Dolby certified speakers, 6 cell battery, a SD slot, N wireless, Bluetooth, and a HDMI port. For this spec, it is even cheaper than building your own box. And, I am wondering how Acer making their profit?
So far, the only thing upset me is I need to removed a lot of sticker from this computer. Especially, the sticker located on the top of mouse pad is very sticky. I have not thought about a good way to remove the residue without messing it up. On the other hand, something cool is this laptop can me allow to the create default disc for recovering the Windows 7 coming with it. It take me three empty disc and two hours to burn but I am very grateful. For a price tag, $499, I am very happy with the speed and the spec of it. It makes me easy the pain to miss to a deal of SONY Viao ($569) two weeks ago and the cancellation of my Dell.
The bottom line is that I will not buy this laptop for serious gaming because the graphic is mediocre. Meantime, I did some research and found Acer is the less reliable laptop after two years of use. However, I am thinking to swap another faster laptop after two years since I only pay $499 now. And I can bring it with me to go anyway without being worry about a scratch or two.
Score: 5 / 5

Many people, when they want to buy a laptop computer, think about the price above all. The price is a very important factor in deciding upon one such laptop, because most people want to stay in the limits of a budget and won’t spend more than planned on a machine.
The cheapest laptop computers are not the worst and this is why in what follows we will discuss a bit about the cheapest laptop computers that can be now found on the market and their features. So if you want to stay in the limits of a budget, but still have a nice laptop to work on, a laptop that will perform your basic tasks (because most cheap laptops have a single core processor), that you should check out the list below.
The Samsung R610 is one of the cheapest laptop computers that are on the market. Although it has some very good features, the manufacturer has cut down from different parts in order to keep the price low, but it also made it less efficient. Let’s see the features of this cheap laptop. First of all, the processor is an average Intel T5800 2.0GHz that runs on 3GB of RAM and that will perform your basic tasks, but that’s about all. The hard drive, though, has a pretty good storage capacity of 250GB on which you can stock almost anything from documents to photos, videos and music. Although the 16-inch laptop has a bright display and is very light and thin, it has very poor battery life, so you won’t be able to travel very long and use it without recharging it. Also, the resolution could be higher and another bad thing is that the laptop computer has a limited feature set. However, if you plan to use it just for the basic tasks and nothing more, than you should consider it because it is really cheap and it performs the however little work well enough.
Another cheap laptop computer is the MSI Wind 1000 that is actually a mini laptop with a 10-inch screen. Although it embeds pretty nice features, there some things that could be better. Take for instance the speakers, they could have more volume and the webcam suffers from a bit of lag, and also some improvement can be brought to the touchpad. However, the fact that the laptop’s LCD has great viewing angles and a 6-Cell battery makes it a good purchase. Also, among the best feature of the laptop are included the Wireless N, Bluetooth, and 3 USB 2.0 and the comfortable keyboard. All in all, the laptop would make for a nice system that will perform your basic tasks thanks to the Atom processor. Most of the features can be upgraded, like the RAM and the hard drive, so you’ll be able to make your laptop a bit better, if you feel the need. If not, than the included features should do their job properly and you’ll be pleased to pay a small price for a nice system.
