My 2 sons and 1 daughter worship these movies. My husband and I worship the fact that they have fabulous lessons for the children to learn for everyday experiences. We delight in watching them too.

The movies are enormous! Samantha is my approved by far! I admire that they are friendly for the whole family though and give a bit of a history lesson too. My children adore these! Can’t wait for Kit to advance out too!

Recommended for fans of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.

Summed up, I’d say Urge Hour 2 is unbiased as edifying, if not better, than the current Urge Hour. The movie, like most Jackie Chan flicks, contains the same Mammoth ACTION, Enormous STUNTS and Tall LAUGHS that you’ve near to inquire from Jackie flicks. This one does not disappoint.

Much like the current Run Hour, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan continue that awesome chemistry they have that made the novel such a Vast hit. This time though the tables are slightly reversed as the flick picks up in Hong Kong (apt where the new ended when they took their vacation) with Tucker being the fish out of water doing cultural and language faux paux in Hong Kong. The movie actually continues some of the storyline threads of the current referring relieve to Jackie’s (Inspector Lee’s) deceased father. The basic premise of the storyline has Jackie and Tucker (along with the U.S. Secret Service) tracking down a erroneous dollar bill ring throughout Hong Kong and the U.S. all the plot to Vegas (where else) . Tons of laughs and loads of action are left in the wake of their hasten.

Highlights: Loads of laughs as Chris Tucker tries to command Chinese and declare karaoke. Tons of AWESOME fight scenes (in particular the massage parlor scene) . Tons of HILARIOUS (albeit perhaps politically wrong) repartee with Chris Tucker. Our heroes streaking through the streets of Hong Kong. Tons of graceful women.

Things to Beware of: Chris Tucker’s mouth. While his tirades are often hilarious, some (like Roger Ebert) may obtain some the movies dialogue contaminated (racist) .

The Extinguish of Movie Bloopers: Of course being a Jackie Chan film, one of the definite highlights of his movies are the waste of movie bloopers. There are several goods ones in here, particularly a cell phone call and the broad hint at the next Run Hour flick (as was set-up in the closing scene of the movie) .

Overall, it you are into Jackie Chan or Chris Tucker or Action Comedies or the first Race Hour, you KNOW you’ll be seeing this one. You won’t be disappointed.

You can accept this position for around $25 and for that tag it’s definitely worth it. Lawful, the first one is the best (I pick the unusual over the “Version You’ve Never Seen”, but they’re detached both very satisfactory), but the third one isn’t that poor (in fact, I reflect it’s attractive beneficial) And neither version of the prequel is pleasant, but it is sort of elegant to have two VERY different versions of the same film, and in this context, for comparing the power of editing and the how the perspective of a director can affect a movie, these discs are spicy. Proper, the second one has no merit, but what can you do? But I won’t complain. It’s noble for a laugh.

And there you have it. Everything is there. Correct, you could pick up fair pick up the unique for cheaper, but I level-headed reflect this is a solid space and a tall deal at that!

And a large open for terror newcomers as well! I’ve been a fan of anxiety movies for years and the fresh Exorcist was not only one of my first, but it became a personal common of mine. For many, it’s not only the sheer frightfulness of it that made it such a respectable film (wait on in the 70’s, anyways. Even my mom said it wasn’t as scary today as it was aid then), but it was what it made people contemplate about as well. In a world where religion tends to be the prime pains of all people, exorcism began to drift out of the minds of many as well as many ideas slow Satanism and supernatural evils. This movie brought this line of understanding wait on and in tubby force. What better design to stare these classics than to consume such a substantial collection at a reasonable tag?

Now onto separate snappily movie critiques:

The Exorcist (Unusual and Director’s Sever) : The classic that started it all. There’s not grand here that needs to be said with a few exceptions. First off, if you have not yet seen this movie, prepare yourself to be possibly timorous by some very unsightly, disgusting and sickening scenes and visuals. Second, in the Director’s Lop, there is a very graphic and bloody scene that was not included in the unique. However, this is NOT the recent version of the scene. The recent footage was not all too believable and can be found on YouTube (search “Spider Meander Scene” and inspect for the current) . And finally, again in the director’s slash, examine closely for “subliminal” images, as I’ve seen them called before. Two hard to residence ones are he cross demon face in the stove hood when Mrs. MacNeil comes home and the power flickers and in the final exorcism scene, where in the window you can very briefly recognize Karass’ mother. (5/5 stars to the current, 4.5/5 on the director’s gash upon coming to understand issues the modern scenes cause to the story’s pacing)

The Exorcist II - The Heretic: Well, first thing that should be mentioned is that this legend has some determined continuity issues with the later prequels. I’ll elaborate those differences in my reviews for those films, but the mistake involves the boy who was possessed in Merrin’s past, in Africa. In this movie, it’s a young unlit boy, (though I forget his name off the top of my head.) which is different in the prequels. Also, the anecdote itself was kind of sub-par as were the visuals. The Exorcist actually looked believable with realistic special effects, but this one is fairly silly. (2/5 stars)

The Exorcist III: I had my doubts about renting this at first, especially since I heard it wasn’t too pleasurable of a movie and especially after seeing The Heretic it didn’t seem too engaging. However, I couldn’t have been more depraved. The sage continues what happens years after the recent Exorcist in an often overlooked sequel. However, the movie does include some fantastic shocks and valid state twists. The movie is graphic in a subtle map and usually, more often than not, verbally not visually when the killer is describing his killings. Also, the visual effects during this scene are incredible. It’s hard to inform that the person who the killer is possessing’s face is changing into that of the killer’s. (4.5/5 stars)

The Exorcist - The Beginning: This movie is hard to critique, really. The chronicle is actually fairly well done, though there are many differences between this movie and, not only the originals, but in the other version of the prequel, Dominion. Also, instead of the young shadowy boy being possessed (though it DOES appear he is) it is the nurse instead and the very last scene is like a terrible ripoff of the current movie’s final scene. Also it should be celebrated that the movie is often times unprejudiced a homely bloodfest, unlike the older movies which tended to go more along subtle violence in attempts to disturb the viewers. (3/5 Stars)

Dominion - Prequel to The Exorcist: This movie is a considerable better version of the other prequel. In record, at least. Yes, the visuals ARE rather lacking. However, this is simply due to a lack of Warner Brothers trying to construct it explore better. This was clearly the raw footage that wasn’t even fixed up to gaze nice. However, there is worthy less violence, blood and gore, which is instead replaced by mighty more psychological themes that construct the tale perhaps even better than the current in it’s have arrangement. The person possessed in this film was a retarded man who was rejected by his home village. Also in this movie, Pazuzu looks remarkable different and, in my belief, powerful more ominous. (4/5 stars for abominable visuals)

Final Word: If you like scare, or even if you’re honest an avid movie goer, this collection is a must, or at least the current and the second sequel. For other very well made fear movies, I recommend Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the new one that was actually disturbing) and Rosemary’s Baby, which also have a very Satan vs. God kind of theme.

EDIT: Touched up some spelling and scores and would also like to point out, regarding my comment that The Heretic was rather humorous, it was actually laughed at during the premiere with the audience actually throwing stuff at the camouflage. So mighty for the as-of-then biggest production set out by Warner Brothers!

If you liked the new Queer COUPLE - slob and compulsive neatnik thrown together in the same apartment - or HEAVEN KNOWS, MR. ALLISON - tough guy WWII Marine marooned on an enemy-held South Pacific island with a blooming nun, then you should delight in FATHER GOOSE starring Cary Grant, Leslie Caron and Trevor Howard. I saw it once again on the telly this past weekend while doing the ironing, and I’m fortunate to be former enough to have an appreciation of all three films.

Grant is Walter Eckland, an antisocial, unkempt escapee from “civilization” that spends his time bumming around the South Seas on an customary yacht. At the open of WWII, he’s coerced into service as a “cruise watcher”, an observer stationed on a remote island as a lookout for Japanese planes or ships, by the wily and dry-witted local Royal Navy authority figure, Comdr. Houghton (Howard) . Eckland is bribed with booze to fabricate in His Majesty’s service. One of his first assignments is to boat over to another island and rescue a fellow flit watcher. But, on arriving, he finds only his colleague’s grave and the Caron character, Catherine Freneau, the daughter of a French government official, who’s been stranded with a bevy of underage schoolgirls of which she has charge. Walter naturally takes them befriend to his island and his hovel, where the differences between the two adults soon surface. To Eckland, Freneau becomes “Goody Two Shoes”, while, to the latter, her knight in stained armor becomes the “Filthy Beast”.

While admittedly humorous entertainment, FATHER GOOSE is a savory romantic comedy that doesn’t, like some of the original Tinseltown offerings, rely for laughs on sensitive body parts being caught in zippers, bodily fluids masquerading as hair gel, or carnal knowledge of apple pies. This film has Class, chiefly due to the presence of Grant, who character demonstrates more suavity unshaven and without socks than any one of today’s sever of male actors dressed up in a tux. (Perhaps only Sean Connery, Robert Redford and Paul Newman are terminate to being in the same league.) Caron’s strong-willed and very feminine Freneau is more than a match for Eckland’s obstinately boorish masculinity - a pairing made in heaven, or at least Hollywood.

Perhaps my high appreciate for this film is more a function of nostalgia. But there’re a lot of other films from that same period of my youth that are eminently forgettable, so I have to believe that FATHER GOOSE is a chop above.

Cary Grant is cast as Walter Eckland in this very humorous classic comedy. His normal sexy leading man characteristics are downplayed to let his comedic genius shine through. He stars opposite Leslie Caron cast as Catherine Freneau. They are an accident waiting for a status to happen at their first meeting, and it fair gets worse from there. Walter is bribed and threatened into service as a watcher in WWII. Catherine is a diplomat’s daughter given the responsibility of escorting several school children into a safer place. When they are all stranded together, the hilarity, and battle of the sexes begins.

This is one of my approved comedies, and one of Cary Grant’s last movies. No one does it like he does. A broad film that the entire family can luxuriate in together.

Exquisite. That one adjective describes both this film, and its leading lady. Although she is best remembered as the title character in the classic 1944 mystery, “Laura”, and received greater acclaim for her Oscar-nominated performance in the highest-grossing 20th Century-Fox film of the 1940’s, “Leave Her to Heaven”, “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” nonetheless remains Gene Tierney’s most successful film performance. As Lucy Muir, a engrossing British widow at the turn of the 20th century who falls in worship with the ghost of a sea captain, Miss Tierney is on camouflage in every scene of the film, and dazzles throughout with her ethereal beauty and her thespic versatility. Afforded the rare opportunity to play moments of high comedy, level-headed drama, and romantic yearning all in one film, Miss Tierney never once strikes a fake stamp. She is particularly touching in the sequence during which the middle-aged Mrs. Muir reflects on the past with her grown daughter; in the hands of a lesser actress, this scene could easily have become maudlin and overly sentimental, but Tierney plays it with a unruffled dignity and sweet settle that distills the essence of her handsome and independent character.

Yet, while “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” is arguably Tierney’s best film, its success is not due to her efforts alone. Rex Harrison, in his second American film, also triumphs as the salty sea captain whose gruff veneer is slowly peeled away by the sure widow sharing his home. The scene in which he bids her a tender farewell is brilliantly played. George Sanders excels in his role as a romantic cad; the vocal sneer he practically patented on film suits his share here perfectly. And the entire production is aided tremendously by Bernard Herrmann’s lush and majestic accept, as well as Charles Lang’s Oscar-nominated cinematography (that nomination was for the 1947 awards, by the the method, not the 1942 ceremonies as incorrectly eminent on the front of the DVD box) .

Speaking of the DVD, the transfer is - in the 20th Century-Fox Home Video tradition - disappointing. While the source print is great better that the one passe for the VHS and laserdisc releases, and is infinitely satisfactory to the scratchy, poorly-spliced copy that is often screened on pay-TV stations like AMC, the film has not been digitally restored. There are tranquil necessary flutters (especially noticeable during the opening credits), scratches, and jumps in both the recount and the soundtrack. The DVD does include the rarely-seen Current Theatrical Trailer; a stills gallery that emphasizes area create photographs but does include some bright on-the-set photos of Gene Tierney in her wheelchair (she broke her foot during production and continued filming against her doctor’s advice) ; Theatrical Trailers for the five previously-released Fox Studio Classics DVDs; an A&E “Biography” segment on Rex Harrison; and audio commentaries including remarks by film historian Jeanine Basinger who supervised the cataloging of the Tierney archives in Connecticut … and whose name is misspelled on the DVD package. Despite its flaws, this DVD edition is the level-headed one available of this classic, greatly-beloved film and is therefore cheerfully recommended.

Trivia note: Not surprisingly, after Tierney died in 1991 at the age of 70 (not 71 as illustrious in the DVD’s liner notes), “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” was the film chosen to record the actress’ career during the two-day auction of many of her personal effects at the Hart Galleries in Houston, Texas. The screening was a most fitting tribute to both a suitable actress and a aesthetic human being.

This was the movie that convinced me that the tremendous conceal romances keen couples that were not able to kiss or even touch. The Ghost the behind Captain Daniel Gregg, played by a bristling Rex Harrison, while Mrs. Lucy Muir is Gene Tierney, a widow who moves into the captain’s seaside cottage with her young daughter (played as a child by Natalie Wood, by Vanessa Brown as an adult) . Of course, he wants to be horrid and paddle her away from “his” home, but she, of course, finds him endearing. However, while the title characters do not live happily ever after, there is a astounding ending to the film. Definitely one of my ten approved Romance movies of all time with superior interaction between Harrison and Tierney (her best film by far) . Adapted by Philip Dunne from R. A. Dick’s original, with solid direction from Joseph L. Mankiewicz and a capable derive from Bernard Herrmann. “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” is a treasured Golden Oldie, not to be confused with the uncomfortable sitcom television produced in the gradual 60’s.

A marked improvement over the previous version of the film, “Daredevil” (Director’s Carve) allows director and co-writer Notice Steven Johnson to adjust his film to the darker aspects he originally wanted to report on camouflage. I won’t be reviewing the previous edition in this review at all (since amazon.com inadvertently combines all editions into one pool this may slay up under the previous theatrical DVD release), but will focus on what makes the “Director’s Slit” fresh and worth picking up for fans of the movie and the silly book.

Sometimes “Director’s Cuts” are a mere attempt by the studio to effect more money or the director to build something successful out of a difficulty. That isn’t the case with “Daredevil”(Director’s Slit) . Director Johnson originally intended to focus as considerable on Daredevil as he did on Matt Murdock and his career as a crusading lawyer fighting for the underdogs. The 30 minutes of additional footage adds an famous subplot about the kill of a hooker which is pinned on street thug (Coolio) . The fight sequence at the kill between Kingpin and Daredevil is longer and more keen. Many of the fight sequences are lop with an “R” rating movie in mind (and that’s what this DVD version received as its rating) . Some of the savor narrative between Elektra and Daredevil gets shortened here as well in favor of developing Murdock’s character and for some truly piquant (and occasionally comical) courtroom scenes.

Johnson was required by his contract to provide a PG-13 movie and, as a result, he had to reshuffle the movie a bit cutting out noteworthy of the subplot as well as trimming down the more intense fight sequences of the film. There’s also a number scenes related to character development that got lost along the map most notably the reporter that follows the Daredevil and Murdock himself. Restoring these sequences improve the film and add strength to a account that had a number of holes in it and was too simply resolved. The transfer here actually looks a bit sharper and with slightly better clarity the the unique DVD. Like the previous edition, this one has been transferred in the anamorphic widescreen format which translates to better image quality than a standard widescreen transfer. The sound is also top notch with nice expend of the surround sound format.

This “Director’s Slash” doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the previous edition (in fact it is a single disc release) . The only extras are Johnson and producer Avi Arad’s commentary track for this edition (which was in preparation for DVD before the movie was even released to theaters) and a 15 microscopic featurette on the director’s intension in creating this edition. While it lacks the extras on the previous edition, it more than makes up for them with a stronger film. My only complaint is that this should have been released at the same time as the recent DVD and/or in set of it with a second disc of extras. Unfortunately, Fox has participated in the veteran double dip.

Overall, “Daredevil” is noteworthy improved with this special edition. It’s a pity it came out so long after the recent (worthy like the “Lord of the Rings” movies) . Johnson points out in the featurette that he considers “Daredevil” to detached be flawed movie and while he may be just, restoring the first R rated version certainly makes this film stronger. The “Director’s Gash” is far closer to Frank Miller’s humorous book vision of “Daredevil” than the previous edition. Fans of the movie will definitely want to win this up.

This Director’s Nick improves on the unusual in almost every diagram. The location holes are filled in, the fight scenes are more violent, and the romance is trimmed down a bit. And occupy it or not, obsolete rapper Coolio was actually quite comical, especially in the court scene when he mentions he uses only shotguns (you’ll know what I mean when you peer it) . If this was the version released in theaters I believe most people would have this one at the top of the Superhero film lists accurate beside Batman, X-Men 2, and Spider-Man 2. This version is worth buying and I will never search for the theatrical nick again.

Here’s a movie for dog lovers, the elderly, children of divorce, FOBs (Friends of Birds), venerable Boy Scouts, people yearning for adventure, and anyone who has ever loved… and lost. Up is for everyone. It made me laugh out loud, and it made me weep.

I view it would be tough for Up to match the emotional power of Wall-E. The two Pixar films are similar in their lack of dialogue in the first act, which helps deepen the emotional impact. Up begins with Carl, a horrified young boy star-struck by a illustrious explorer; and kookie Ellie, who has a similar obsession. The two kids become hastily friends, and allege to one day move to Venezuela’s Paradise Falls. After getting married, they win their dream home and fix it up, hoping to contain it with children. Carl and Ellie’s life together from childhood through former age is depicted, silently, with delicacy and subtlety. The first 15 minutes is like a celebration of a overjoyed marriage, and you truly feel Carl’s hurt when he is left alone. He sits slumped in his chair, talking to the house as if it is the missing Ellie.

When developers cessation in on Carl’s beloved home, he decides to fulfill his promise to Ellie and move to Paradise Falls. A used balloon vendor, Carl lifts his home with hundreds of lustrous balloons. Stowing away on the porch is Russell, a fat, fearless kid trying to rep a scouting badge.

After landing in Paradise Falls, the former man and the slight boy are joined by a golden retriever named Dug who can talk with his collar, and a immense rare bird that bonds with Russell (he names her “Kevin”) . Dug is priceless: spot-on for every dog that ever lived, including an obsession with squirrels. Through a series of cessation calls and adventures, the quartet vanquishes a villain, saving the day. And Russell earns his scouting badge.

In the process, Carl learns to let go of his unlit mourning for Ellie, and live life again. When this happens, a truly magical thing happens. Before, Carl’s craggy face is gray and monochromatic. At the moment of his transformation, Carl’s face is awash in color, and he is surrounded by delicate hues. It reminded me of The Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy steps out of her gray world and into a candy-colored Munchkinland. Carl, too, enters a whole fresh world.

Up is a deeply emotional film, beefy of truth. It’s the year’s best film. Win another triumph for Pixar.

Someday, Pixar is going to do it — they’re going to get an emotionally uninspiring, lackluster though-provoking movie. But in the meantime, they’re serene putting out luscious though-provoking movies like “Up,” which defies the usual kid-movie conventions by starring a crotchety stale man. It’s a charming, fun microscopic adventure fable with flying dogs and balloon-powered houses, but underlying it is a bittersweet exiguous anecdote about loss and savor.

As a child, the panicked Carl Fredricksen bonded with the oddball Ellie over their shared appreciate of adventure, the explorer Charles Muntz, and Paradise Falls. They later married, travel into their “clubhouse” together, and lived a long, sadly childless life together. When Ellie died, she had never fulfilled her dream of going to Paradise Falls.

Now crotchety, alone and harassed by a sincere estate developer, Carl (Ed Asner) is finally ordered to a retirement home. But he isn’t going quietly — instead he attaches thousands of balloons to his house and floats it away toward South America. But he accidentally takes an interested, naive Wilderness Explorer (a thinly-veiled Boy Scout) named Russell (Jordan Nagai) along for the hurry. Dreadful kid was fair trying to glean an “assisting the elderly” badge.

And the jungle scramble to Paradise Falls turns out to have some surprising obstacles: a mountainous emulike bird that Russell names Kevin, a talking dog named Dug (”I am jumping on you, bird!”), and a mysterious passe man who lives deep in the heart of the jungle. Turns out the weak guy is very familiar to Carl — and to assume Kevin, he’s willing to sacrifice Carl and Russell.

Industry experts were babbling about how “Up” wouldn’t be as approved as the previous Pixar movies, because the protagonist is basically a crusty venerable coot. Well, shows what they know. It ended up becoming one of those classic movies that somehow appeals to all ages — while the humor and action appeal to children, adults can be pleased Carl’s savor for his lost wife, and his wearisome realization that he’s clinging to the past.

In fact, the first ten minutes are some of the most heart-tugging, quietly bittersweet scenes I’ve seen in a long time. Without a word, they indicate all the ups and downs of a realistic marriage — joys, sorrows (Ellie’s inability to have children), growing stale together, and finally loss.

But it’s not a depressing movie by any stretch — in fact, it’s like a childhood fantasy advance to life, complete with a floating house suspended on hundreds of balloons, and biplanes piloted by a talking dog army.. Plenty of big dialogue (”Do you want to play a game? It’s called Scrutinize Who Can Go the Longest Without Saying Anything.” “Icy! My mom loves that game!”) and an action-packed climax in an broken-down airship.

Ed Asner is absolutely perfect as ubergrouch Carl — crotchety, grumpy, and distinct to fulfill his wife’s lifelong dream, but gradually realizing he’s clinging to the past. Nagai is equally perfect as Carl’s polar opposite: a naive, chattery Scout who is positive to reunite Kevin with her baby chicks. And the utterly adorable Dug and the other dogs deserve special look. These creatures are utterly hilarious — they talk (”I hid under your porch because I care for you”) and act the arrangement dogs would if they talked. Three words: cone of shame.

The two-disc edition is going to have some very nice extras, but once again people with regular-def DVDs are going to regain shafted because the Blu-ray edition will have a bunch of unique stuff. Grr. As for this one, there’s a digital copy, the director’s audio commentary, kinda-alternate-ending “The Many Endings of Muntz,” and the documentary “Adventure Is Out There” about the research for this movie.

There are also a pair of adorable exciting shorts. “Partly Cloudy” has a much-abused stork having to command potentially spoiled baby creatures from a kind but clueless cloud. And “Dug’s Special Mission” is a sort of backstory for the adorable Dug, explaining what the heck he was doing before he met up with Carl and Russell.

“Up” continues Pixar’s running tally of gloriously enthralling, emotionally layered movies that the entire family can savor. With that, I have only one more thing to say… SQUIRREL!

If you are expecting action sequences and seriousness like in FMP the first raid, you will be disappointed…almost nothing of that sort is in this series..but this series wasn’t meant for that. It was meant to effect you LOL. Trust me you will crack up at the stuff Kaname and Sousuke go through (or cause!) The episodes are always always silly, never a monotonous moment. TRUST ME! There is a bit of violence (like fights and stuff) but nothing like in the first FMP. There is a lot of fan service, but no nudity (almost!) and some poor language. The anime has no loyal yarn line (objective the day in the life I guess of Sousuke and Kaname), but like I said, it was never meant for that. It was fair meant to accomplish you laugh and definitely worth the grasp. Recommended to 13yrs and up.

This is one of my current anime series of all time. I’ve had this collection for about a month and not only have I watched it repeatedly, but I’ve shown it to all of my friends and now they all want it! This thinpack boxset is a titanic value over buying the series individually.

I watched all of the Fumuffo eopisodes before watching the complete recent Rotund Metal Scare and unexcited thoroughly ejoyed them. There isn’t considerable carry-over between them, although the characters are the same. I appreciate Sosuke’s deadpan laughable lines. My common episode is the “Patient of Darkness,” where Kaname tries to earn a rise out Sosuke in a timid hospital.

I can’t even rationalize giving it 1 star because that implies it got 1/5 of “something” while I can’t watch that it did anything fair, except station up a lucrative platform to originate millions of “fanfare” junk to market to kids i.e. numerous video games, coloring books, clothing, pc software, and soundtracks all appear when typing in Shark Memoir on amazon’s search.

After watching it with my primary other, we pondered off and on for about 24 hours trying desperately to assume of a worse movie that we have seen. Unruffled none have advance to mind.

This movie plays off of every stereotype I can deem of. The “chilly” dusky guy who raps and dances, the white guy that can’t dance or doesn’t know any cold hand shakes, the jamaicans that are wearisome, the italians that are mobsters, the white chick that is meek….and finally the unintended, me, the viewer that wants to puke. If my kids were subjected to this I would have a lot of explaining to do to dispell all the stereotypes that are maximized in this movie, ok that trivializes what my role of a parent would be if they were subjected to this…if I had taken any kid to glimpse this movie I would have left early, which isn’t an easy task with kids.

This movie shamelessly plugged so many consumer products I felt like I was sitting through one substantial commercial, Gup instead of Gap, Guppy Kremes instead of Kristpy Kremes, Coral Cola instead of Coka Cola to name a few mock products which are distinct advertisements for the loyal product due to the likeness in trademarks. Contrivance to target that young market, corporate whores!

Also the good of ths yarn seemed to be if you screw up about a hundred times, some chick will back you out, then you can screw over that chick about a hundred times, lie to the entire community, and in the raze everyone will like you any intention and the chick will approach aid to you if you take her balloons. Obedient MESSAGE FOR ALL!!

Oscar (Smith) the fish leads a normal life. He is honest an average guy working at the Whale Wash. One day, he wanders into shark territory and is chased by Frankie. Unfortunately for Frankie, the sprint ends in his death, not at Oscar’s hands, but by pure accident. Oscar sees as an opportunity to “be someone”, and rapidly takes the credit. The fish world begins to call him the “Shark Slayer”, two female fish originate to prove their interest, and the shark godfather (DeNiro) makes it his business to earn the murderer of Frankie…his son.

“Shark Story” is yet another attractive movie that will appeal to both children and adults. The disagreement is, this time it almost seems made for adults first and kids second. The most sure references are to “The Godfather” and “Goodfellas”, two movies that no kids should have seen. Also, advertising placement has urge amok in this movie. Every blueprint you turn in the city, there are positive “spurious ads” for trusty products that is very distracting. Most everything in this movie is overkill, in fact.

The scream talents are credible and the animation is generous, although I found Oscar to search for kind of creepy with his approach human-looking face. “Shark Sage” also is nothing like “Finding Nemo”, which is both kindly and dreadful. Expedient, because it is not retreading material that is not too primitive yet. Unpleasant, because “Finding Nemo” was so powerful better. “Shark Account” is a decent movie that will be enjoyed by most, and I did laugh a number of times while viewing it, but my advice is to wait for DVD.

MARTIAN CHILD was marketed incorrectly - that can be the major reason for its lack of success in the theatrical release. While all the multiplex theaters are overflowing with loud, shameful, raunchy, and special effects driven financial successes (with major exceptions, of course!), minute meaningful and sensitive films such as this are submerged and don’t last long. Should the name of the film have been different? Should the advertisements been better designed? Based on the modern ‘The Martian Child’ by David Gerrold (beautifully adapted for the veil by Seth Bass and Jonathan Tolins), Director Menno Meyjes has gathered an exceptional cast to show this myth about human needs and how we all acquire security in the warmth of other caring beings. David (John Cusack) is a successful science fiction writer who is a widower, serene grieving for his wife. His agent Jeff (Oliver Platt), his sister Liz (Joan Cusack) and his wife’s best friend Harlee (Amanda Peet) assist his ‘convalescence’, but David feels the need for a child. When social worker Sophie (Sophie Okonedo) calls David concerning an available unfamiliar slight boy Dennis (Bobby Coleman) who believes he is from the planet Mars and hides inside a box, covered with sunscreen and dismal glasses, David responds: he, after all, writes science fiction and is attracted to the conception that Dennis believes he is here from Mars on a mission. Against the advice of his practical sister, David agrees to lift Dennis home, feeling that he is one of the few who can report to Dennis’ behavior.

Life at home is not easy, but with time David and Dennis bond and Dennis comes out of his box to become ‘normal’. It is the prolonged creep on which David and Dennis embark that holds the meat of the memoir. Dennis has been deserted as a diminutive child and finds security in believing he is a visiting Martian who will be ‘taken home’ to Mars when his mission to understand human beings is complete. David’s persistent parenting (quoting Churchill’s ‘Never ever, ever,ever, ever, ever give up’), while tested to the obscene, results in a bonding with Dennis that is heart wrenchingly resplendent. And how each of the characters’ lives is changed by this incredible relationship brings the film to a touching conclude.

In addition to the handsome performances by both Cusacks, Peet, Platt, and Okonedo, there are brief but considerable cameos by Anjelica Huston and Richard Schiff among others. This is a film that makes a major statement about parenting and single parenting in particular and does so with kindness, tenderness, and loyal emotion. Please behold this film. Being a single guy myself, looking into the adoption process of becoming a father of a special needs (older/behavioral) child, I was mad about this movie coming out. I have always believed that we need more movies such as this one that shows adopting an older child and single adoption in a safe light. There are many older kids such as the one displayed in the movie that need homes. I know this because I am also a child therapist and I work with many of them. What I liked about the movie is how it shows what truly a single man goes through when trying to adopt. I have an older sister unbiased like the one in the movie. Everything that Cusack’s sister said to him, my sister said to me. “These older kids have problems, why would you want to deal with that? ” she has stated to me. Also how the system looks at a single man not superior or curious to want to raise kids is there also. It’s black we live in a society in which men are not utter to esteem kids… unless they are his have or unless they are on the football field or something. The lack of sure male role models is one thing that is damaging our society.

The missing share of the movie that I notion could have made it better is I was expecting the kid to have been more difficult… displaying behavior that would have made it harder to appreciate him. The diminutive guy in the movie was easy to fancy. That’s what didn’t invent sense to me. He was very socially odd; however, his behavior was not all that poor. I don’t understand why a therapeutic foster home or family couldn’t handle him. He wasn’t aggressive physically or verbally and didn’t have any of the important issues such as self infamous or sexually acting out behavior. He was objective a very neglected, possibly abused child that lived in a fantasy world in order to cope with his reality. Also I didn’t understand why the so called mental health experts in the movie belief this behavior was abnormal taking into record that the kid was abandoned and likely abused. It is very popular for severely abused and neglected children to live in a fantasy world. I can’t count the number of group home kids I have worked with that stated that their mother objective bought them an xbox360 or something else ample and I know they don’t even have parents. It’s easier to invent up fake stories about being loved than to live with the reality of not being wanted. Also I wish there were more heart felt moments in the movie. The ones that were in the movie were basically ruined by watching the trailer.

Also I have read many reviews stating that the waste of the movie was awful. I view the last scene when Cusack told the boy how vital and special he is was the best portion of the movie. That scene made the movie! There are many, many kids who need to hear what Cusack said to that boy. Most people who don’t have any experience working with unwanted children may contemplate that scene was corny, however those who do have experience working with or being one of those kids, that scene was perfect. Mountainous movie however unprejudiced a petite under five stars!

By the map, to totally luxuriate in this movie you have to eye at it as a pure drama and not science fiction. Explore the movie with the opinion that unwanted, abused and abandoned kids produce up fantasy stories in order to cope with their reality and the so called “science fiction” fraction of the movie will design more sense. Also choose into tale that an adoption process takes at least a year. All of these “sappy” moments could have EASILY happened in a year time frame.

This movie could also be old-fashioned in group therapy for foster kids as a intention to secure them to instruct themselves about their unique issues. Many foster and adopted kids have experienced many of the same situations the young boy in the movie faced. The movie is splendid to expend to begin a discussion and seek feelings and benefit kids glean awareness about themselves… impartial a view.
